Milliat Trade Card from 1937

Irish Setter

This full color card was issued 78 years ago by Joseph Milliat Pdts. in France. This beautiful card is from a set of 12 cards entitled "Les Chiens (Dogs)" to put in an album that was available at the time. The card was given as a free premium with the purchase of Milliat products. The front of the card shows a colored artist picture of the Irish Setter drawn & signed by the artist A. Boisset, while the back of the card has a brief description of the breed and a list of the products that the card was issued with (in French). The "holes" at the center of the card is not a flaw in the card but rather a cancellation mark by the issuer when the card was redeemed. The card measures c 3" x 2" or 75mm x 50mm. This is a very rare card.
